 | Maria Lavelle, WRITER / DIRECTOR / PRODUCER Maria Lavelle is a Norwegian filmmaker, MFA Candidate at NYU Tisch School of the Arts and recipient of the prestigious Willard T.C. Johnson Fellowship (2018). She made her directorial debut in 2016 with an award-winning documentary featuring the homeless population in South Dakota—where she completed her undergraduate studies in journalism and theatre. As a student at Tisch, Lavelle continues chasing her vision of telling important stories that appeal to broad audiences. |
 | Jall Cowasji, DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY Jall Cowasji is a cinematographer from central India. His filmography includes numerous award-winning short films and documentaries, shown at venues such as the Oscar qualifying Austin Film Festival, and the International Film Festival of India. As a grad film student at NYU’s Tisch School of The Arts, and recipient of the coveted Nikon Storytellers Scholarship, Jall is drawn to stories that are honest and unafraid to challenge convention or seek levity in serious matters. |

 | Joel Rooks, MORGAN Joel Rooks is an American actor known from TV-series like Law and Order, Inside Amy Schumer and the Amazon-series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Rooks has throughout his career acted in numerous Broadway plays (The Royal Family, Say Goodnight Gracie og Fish in the Dark, among others), and dozens regional- and off-Broadway shows. In addition to his experience with acting in both film and theatre, Rooks is a faculty member at the renowned William Esper Studio, and has taught drama in the US, Denmark, the Netherlands and England. “Holy Jail” will be Joel Rooks’ first film shot in Norway. |
